Dutch websites Minimovies.org (Submarine), Upload Cinema and Smart History, in which digital heritage specialist Lotte Meijer participated, are nominated for the Webby Awards 2009, a prize that is regarded as the international Internet-oscars.

From more than 10.000 applications received each year from 60 countries, the Webby Awards have chosen MiniMovies.org in the category 'Film & Video', subcategory ‘Documentary: Series'. Smarthistory.org is nominated in the cateogry Education and Upload Cinema is participating in the category Events & Live Webcasts. For each category there are two prizes, being the Juryprize and the People’s Voice Award. The latter requires your votes; untill April 30th, everyone can vote for this award at pv.webbyawards.com.
